Tym Smith has been in the Early Care and Education profession for over 35 years. His career started as an After-School Teacher. He then taught Private Kindergarten, been a Director of a center with over 250 children, and has worked as a Multi-Unit Manager for one of the largest Early Care and Education providers in Texas, before becoming an owner.
Tym studied Early Childhood Education at Texas Baptist University. In addition to being a member of TLCCA, NAEYC, NCCA, and NAA, Tym served as an NAEYC Validator for several years.
Tym currently serves on the board of directors for the Association for Early Learning Leaders, and serves as the Chair of Professional Development and Advocacy. Tym served as President of the Texas Licensed Child Care Association in 2011 and 2013. In 2012, Tym received the Ruth Blessing Award for his work in early education.
Tym owned Early Care and Education for 14 years, a private preschool and after school program with locations in Coppell, Southlake, Arlington, Flower Mound, and North Richland Hills.
For over 20 years, Tym has trained leaders, directors, managers, teachers, and staff on multiple topics in the field.
With a strong focus on staff motivation and advocacy for young children, Tym's trainings are full of energy and surprises.
